Jingpo Lake & Liudingshan Scenic Area

In the morning we had a breakfast at the hotel and it’s buffet. Then at 7:30 we checked out to exit gate where out shuttle van waited for us to Changbaishan today. We using a porter luggage again to to transfer our luggage to the point where’s park shuttle bus will take us to the entrance gate we had yesterday. Upon arrive we could find the shuttle van which arranged at 8:30 will waiting there. Noticing that there’s something wrong, we called the PIC of the transport arrangement, it cames up that we are going to the wrong gate, the park has 3 entrance and exit gate, and right now we are on a gate back to yabuli whilist we should be on the gate to sanhetun. Luckily the drive are willing to pick us up from where we are right now and told us wo waiting there rather then we go inside the snow town again and take the shuttle bus to the destinated gate.

From Snow Town to Changbaishan will take about 9-10 hours, that’s not including stop over which we are gonna have at Jingpo Lake at Jingpo and Liudingshan Temple at Dunhua. Along the way there will be a couple stop for toilet.

Jingpo Lake

After ride about 4 hour we arrive at Jingpo Lake and we only have 1hour to until 1am to visit the place. “Jingpo” in Chinese means “clear and flat as a mirror”. This lake is the largest mountain barrier lake in China and the second largest in the world. The lake covers an area of 90 square kilometers. The deepest level is about 60 meters.

There are many to see in winter season. The Rime Valley looks like a fairyland and all the trees turn silver in one night. Jingpo Lake Iced Fall is formed by freezing of the world’s largest volcanic lava fall. The drop is about 15 meter and width 300 meters. The entrance fee is 120yuan per person.

Liudingshan Scenic Area

Finish up on time and have a lunch at a chinese restaurant near by. Then continue ride again to Dunhua to Liudingshan Temple where Big Budha statue up on the hill.

Liuding Mountain Scenic Area is located in the southern suburbs of Dunhua, a county-level city of Yanbian Korean Nationality Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province. On the top of the mountain sits a giant Buddha, which is regarded as the landmark attraction in Liuding Mountain Scenic Area. Other main attractions are the Buddhist Culture Center, Zhengjue Temple, Jade Buddha Hall, the Ancestral Hall of Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1911) and the Ancient Tombs of the Bohai Regime.

Because we had a slight problem before about a wrong gate at Xuexiang, it effecting on our timeline and thus we arrive at Liudingshan pass sunset and already getting dark. So we decided not to buy ticket and go inside the place considering we will not reach the peak and soon the place will close , instead just to the point where we can see the Big Budha from outside eventhough from the side of the statue.

After a short time at Liudingshan we continue ride again to Changbaishan. We stayed tonight at Huaqige Apartment near the north entrance of Changbaishan Park. Upon arrive at Erdobaihe, the nearest city from Changbaishan Park we make a brief stop at Wungsong Kazy Hostel which is the chain hostel of Kazy where the transport service we are using right now. The driver need to phone the hotel to make sure where’s the place located. Suprisingly after called the Huaqige they stated that the place is not open and having a guest in the winter time. Well to much drama about our accomodation on this trip. So we ask a favor from the Wungsong to call the booking.com on behalf of us to cancel the reservation without a charge. After a phone confirmation to the property by booking.com they granted the cancellation without charges.
