Hat Yai
This time our main destination is Koh Lipe, a remote island in the Andaman sea just like our Thousand Island archipelago. We flew from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur and then continue to Hat Yai as our gate to Koh Lipe with stay 1 night in and out from Koh Lipe. At Koh Lipe self we stay for two night only.
From Hat Yai airport we took taxi to city, you can buy at the taxi counter after you get out from arrival building. The price is fixed at 300 baht to any hotel in city. If you just alone, you can take shared minivan at 100 baht per person, the counter is at left side from arrival exit door, but mostly the minivan will depart if already full with passenger. The other option for the cheapest one, you can take blue songthaew outside the airport, just from the arrival exit door keep straight passing the parking area up until the road. This songthaew is local transport run in to the city, the fare is 30 baht per person.
Our stay in Hat Yai is at Aree guest house, very cheap for lay over a night. Only 405 baht per night in a private bunk bed room for two person. The owner can speak english very well and we ordered transfer shuttle and boat package to Koh lipe with at 600 baht per person one way. The rest of the day just stroll nearby for food.
