Wellington & Kaikoura
Wellington Cable Car
In the morning after yesterday long drove from Taupo (375km) we get up early to go to Wellington Botanic Garden and Wellington Cable Car & Museum, it’s in the same location. First we hop on cable car down to the city center, the station near the entrance of Botanic Garden. The track down to the city center is not long, maybe about 300mtr.

Arriving at the end of the cable car station we stroll around city center.

After that we hop on cable car again for going back return to the first place where we are going to go inside Botanic Garden.
Interislander Ferry
Finished at Wellington we are going to cross from north islands to south islands by ferry. We drive our rented car to seaport and drop the car there at parking car, we return the car key to a drop box provided at the sea terminal. Seem a bit unique and interesting, i can’t wonder if this practice implemented in our country. It’s a nice journey thru ferry.
Kaikoura
Arriving at Picton, tip of the south islands, we directly go find the Thrifty counter at the terminal to pick up our rented car. This time we got a silver Corrola, same like before the car is in a mint condition. Driving along from Picton to Kaikoura we stop several time in a various place to see interesting place. In NZ every interesting spot have a road marking, really help a tourist to get know and fast spotted it.
We arrive in Kaikoura already late night and not much place still open at that time specially restaurant or same kind like that. Luckily there still one restaurant open and in a moment will be closed, Robbie’s serve western food and the price is quite expensive for a standard serve. Almost 700k IDR per person for a fish and chip or steak. But once again maybe its the standar living cost in here NZ.
