Stone Forest Shillin & Jiu Xiang Scenic Cave

Kunming
Arriving in the morning at 7:43 am after 18 hours express train ride from Chengdu, we arrive at Kunming Station. Our chaffeur already waiting us at the arrival gate with a board my name on it.
I already arrange before from the net looking for a transportation with chaffeur from Kunming to Shillin area since there is no easy access for public transportation to there. The deal for drive us to Stone Forest at Shillin at Jiuxiang Cave is 650RMB all day, this price already including gasoline but exclude meal and entrance fee for the sightseeing place. Total from pick us up at the railway station in to back to Kunming Upland Youth Hostel is 223km.
Stone Forest Shillin
The Stone Forest is a notable set of limestone formations located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China, near Shilin approximately 90 km from the provincial capital Kunming.
The tall rocks seem to emanate from the ground in the manner of stalagmites, with many looking like petrified trees thereby creating the illusion of a forest made of stone. Since 2007, two parts of the site, the Naigu Stone Forest and Suogeyi Village have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites as part of the South China Karst.
This place cost entrance fee 195RMB per person.
Jiuxiang Scenic Cave
From Stone Forest we continue to Jiuxiang Cave.
Jiuxiang Cave is located in Jiuxiang Yi and Hui Autonomous Township of Yiliang County 90 km away from central Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.
It is famous for its caves, mountains, rivers, deep valleys, minority customs and cultures. Jiuxiang Scenic Region consists of 5 major scenic spots from Diehong Bridge, Sanjiao Cave, Dasha Dam, Alulong, Mingyue Lake.
Diehong Bridge itself includes six major scenic spots: the Green Shady Valley, the White Elephant Cave, the Goddess Cave, the Lying Dragon Cave, the Bat Cave and the Tourist Cableway.
It’s cost 120RMB per person.
