From Busan Sukbak we check out and carry our luggage to Sasang station for storage at locker in there, but unfortunately the big one only left three while all of us having 5 big luggage. So we continue to Gimhae Airport station with Gimhae line to store our luggage there. The manned luggage storage in domestic airport is at second floor near the toilet and dunkin donut, left posistion if you coming from below. The rate is 7.000krw for one big luggage from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
After finish up we back again to Sasang station and walk to Seobusan Intercity Bus Terminal near the station. The ticket from Busan to Jinhae is 5.300krw per person. The platform is at 17 and depart every 15 minutes interval. It’s doesn’t have seat number, so first come first serve.
The trip took one hour from Busan to Jinhae. We got off at last bus stop before station, that is the closest walk way to Yeojwacheon Stream where the best spot for Cherry Blossom and Festival.
Jinhae Gunhangje Festival
Jinhae was developed as a naval base of the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Japanese occupation period in the early 20th century.
Every year between late March and early April, visitors flock to Jinhae in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do to enjoy the spectacular cherry blossoms that blanket the whole town at the Korea’s largest cherry blossom festival, Jinhae Gunhangje Festival.
The festival was first held on April 13, 1952 as a small ceremony commemorating Admiral Yi Sun-shin, a Korean naval hero who played an important role in defeating the Japanese army during the Imjin War (1592-1598). Today, it has become one of the largest festivals in the country, with approximately 2 million visitors annually.
The endless canopy of cherry blossoms over the entire city makes a dazzling sight that awes everyone.
If you plan to travel to Korea in the spring, make sure to visit Jinhae to enjoy the wonderful cherry blossoms!
After finished up there we back to Gimhae International Airport again with same route. We are behind schedule, almost 4:00pm when we arrive at the airport. We hurried up to the luggage storage and proceed to the counter. But the flight is on hold status, it’s because of the bad weather in Jeju. We told to be wait for any update regarding this condition, so we wait there. At 4 pm status has been change from hold to processing. So we proceed check in and depart on schedule.
The flight took only 1 hour. When we are going to landing the plane keep going shaking and not stable, at last decision in sight landing position the pilot flew up again and make a second attempt. The second attempt also resulted same, so the pilot decide to flight the plane back to Gimhae again considering the fuel and weather condition.
After arrive at Gimhae again we proceed to the front desk for resolve the matter. There will be no flight again to Jeju at tonight and for tommorow since it’s weekend then the flight is already full. So we offer solution exchange the flight to Seoul without fare difference or full refund in cash for us to take KTX to Seoul. The manager gave us first option flight at that night.
With this even we had cancellation penalty for 1 day stay at Jeju Backpacker from 3 night we had already booked thru Booking.com as stated in term condition and also Eastarjet for flight from Jeju to Gimpo whereas only refunded the tax and surcharge component in ticket. But after personal approach to the Booking.com, the one night cancellation policy has been waive.
Arriving at Gimpo airport directly book Seoul Station Guesthouse, arrive at 1:00pm, eat first in the alley near the Hostel. Call the hostel to confirm to wait for us until 1:00pm.
