Start driving from home at 10 am, since the best route is traffic jam so we take alternative route. We take inner ring road towards Ancol and then exit Tanjung Priok then continue with outer ring road until Jati Asih. After that we take non toll road until Cikarang. Quite safe much time about 2-2.5 hours. But still we got traffic jam at Cikampek, every toll gate form Cirebon, Palimanan, Kanci.

At 12 am we arrive at Pekalongan, along the way we stop couple of times for take a pee and ate. Considering the road from Pekalongan to Dieng is small road and have many bend with extreme slope so we decide to stay that night at Pekalongan City.

Every hotel at that time we tried to ask wether have any available room is none, from Horison, Santika, Dafam and all other budget hotel is fully booked. So we sleep in the car at the parking area of last hotel we ask which is fully booked also.

Day One
Next morning at 5 am we continue the drive, we take Kajen route, then Wanayasa, Banjarnegara and Dieng. Need about 2-2.5 hours for the drive time. Arrive at Dieng firstly is find a place to stay for securing our night in there, we don’t want the Pekalongan moment happen again. For me, i’m a type of person that can’t sleep well if the body is not lay down .

We get a room for 300 idr per night, we plan to take 2 night in Dieng and depart at Sunday in the morning. After securing the room, we start our sightseeing. First was going to Sikidang Crater, then continue to Temples naming from Gatotkaca, Arjuna, Srikandi, etc. After that we go to place called Bukit Ratapan, this place was point of place where we can see the landscape of Telaga Warna and Telaga Pengilon from up. Continue to Dieng Plateau Theatre seeing 23 miinute of a documentary movie about Dieng. Next for closing of today is Telaga Warna and Telaga Pengilon.

Finish up and back to Homestay, clean up and then walk out for a dinner. We dine at the same place morning we had, but now we order pecel Lele and Ayam, then we back to homestay for have a rest early for tommorow morning at 3 am hike to Bukit Sikunir.

Day Two
My alarm ring at 2:30am in the morning, we get up and ate instant noodle (Pop Mie) we bought yesterday night to fill up our stomach bofero activity having know that would be difficult to find something to eat at the time.

I drove the car until Sembungan Village and paid entrance fee 15k idr for two person and 10k idr for the car park. From there we walk by foot about 800mtr climb stairs up, stop couple times before arrive at the top. Arrived top at 4am and waited there until sunrise.

Unfortunately the view is not clear, it’s been foggy until morning, only several minutes got clear view and have a couple of shoot. Since it’s already 6 am and still not have a visible sight we decide to go back down. Most of the people also start leaving the place and make the walking trail jammed with people, need almost one hour just to arrive at bottom.

We then back to homestay to clean our self, pack and then leave to last stop which is Kawah Candradimuka and Telaga Dringo. The place is 7km from Dieng Plateau area, entrance fee to the area is 5k idr per person. The road is still unsealed with extreme contour slope, if you’re not confidence with the car then there is a small parking lot just before the climb up road.

Arrive at Kawah Candradimuka we get down to the crater, at that time the area is in development for staircase so the visitor can easily get to the bottom.

From there we continue to Telaga Dringo, with the same road going up about 5 km more. But along the road there is a truck park in the road unloading fertilizer. The road only as much bigger as one car, so we can’t pass the truck. We decide to cancel Telaga Dringo and back going out to the main road for starting drive head back to Jakarta.

We take the Kajen route again since Mel want to stop by at Pekalongan for hunting Batik dress, couple outlet we stop by none of them interest her, in fact was me that bought Batik :). Another stop is at Brebes for buying roasted salty egg.

Arrive at Tegal we check in at Premiere Guest House we ordered before. Our plan before was stay one night here and continue drive next morning. But since we saw all green in Google Map until Jakarta so we decide just having refreshment and the continue drive.

Along the route only have a heavy traffic near Cikampek toll gate and arriving home at 12pm in the midnight.
