Pink Lake, Natural Bridge & Kalbarri National Park

Hutt Lagoon Pink Lake

Start in the morning at 9:00am from Pinnacles Holiday Parks, Cervantes to Port Gregory for our first stop today, Pink Lake.

Hutt Lagoon is a pink lake which boasts a pink hue created by presence of carotenoid-producing algae Dunaliella salina, a source of ß-carotene, a food-colouring agent and source of vitamin A.

Depending on the time of day, the season (time of year) and the amount of cloud cover, the lake changes through the spectrum of red to bubble-gum pink to a lilac purple. The best time of day to visit is mid-morning or sundown.

Hutt Lagoon can be easily accessed by road along the George Grey Drive, between Geraldton and Kalbarri. It’s 336km from Cervantes.

Natural Bridge & Castle Cove

From Pink Lake continue to Natural Bridge and Castle Cove. This place located 55km or 35minute from last location Hutt Lagoon Pink Lake, or 574km from Perth.

Castle Cove & Natural Bridge are located within Kalbarri National Park. They provide awesome views to the multitude of coastal gorges carved away by the constant hammering of the Indian Ocean.

An easy walk from the carpark, The Gap and The Natural Bridge are the results of wind and wave erosion from when Australia was once connected to Antarctica. These two awe inspiring natural features are located in Torndirrup National Park – the first in Western Australia.

From there we heading to the city for lunch at Kalbarri Cafe before go to Kalbarri National Parks. I’m ordering Beef Hot Sausage and Mel order Ozzy Burger, total for 22 aud. We also order food for dinner later which was Seafood Large Pizza and Chicken and Chips, total for 35 aud.

Kalbarri National Park

Kalbari National Parks was our last destinations for today, at there we go to Nature’s Window’s, The Loop, and Z-Bend. Since we are late we just got Nature’s Windows only.

The gorges and formations carved by the Murchison River attract thousands of visitors to Kalbarri National Park every year. Short walks provide easy access to spectacular lookouts.

A 1km return walk from The Loop car park brings you to one of WA’s most iconic natural attractions. This natural rock arch frames the river perfectly and is the main photograph opportunity in Kalbarri National Park. For an unforgettable gorge adventure, follow the 8km Loop Walk Trail beginning and ending at Nature’s Window.

Kalbarri National Park can be accessed by all vehicles except the Nature’s Window/Z-Bend Road which prohibits large vans, motorhomes, cars towing vans or trailers. 2WD in good condition are okay.

This road has approx. 19km of gravel road, with soft shoulders. National Park entry fees 12aud per vehicle.

Get out from Kalbarri National Parks around 5:30 pm and head back to the city. Today we sleep at Kalbarri Palm Resort which cost 89 aud promotional rate from booking.com. We got studio unit with car park in front the unit, very cozy and complete with kitchen utensils, microwave and others.
