Fuji Subaru 5th Station & Mount Kachi Kachi Ropeway

Fuji Subaru 5th Station

Today we are visiting Mount Fuji. The closest we can get with transportion withouth hiking is to Subaru Mount Fuji 5th Station. There are several paths climbers can take to the summit, and most of the trails start at one of the 4 “5th stations” which are positioned roughly halfway up the mountain, and these stations are also the highest point one can access by car. The most popular 5th Station starting point for climbers is the Fuji Subaru Line 5th station, which sits at 2,305m elevation.

To get there, there is a direct bus service from Kawaguchiko Station which running daily at interval times. You can buy the ticket at counter no.7 outside the Kawaguchiko station for 2100 yen per person included return. This route operated by Fujikyu company.

Arriving at Subaru 5th station the place is really chill, even the sun shine brightly. I was wrong predict the temperature, i thought wasn’t cold in the spring so i don’t bring any jacket. But then later i bought a jacket there :).

Mount Kachi Kachi Ropeway

Back from Subaru 5th Station we take the red line Omnibus again to Kachi Kachi Ropeway. This ropeway is in the city. The return price is 800 yen. But if you manage to get a QR discount code, you can get 10% off.

The Kachi Kachi Ropeway ascends 400 meters from the eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko to an observation deck near the peak of Mount Tenjo. From the observation deck, which sits more than 1000 meters above sea level, there are panoramic views of the lake below and of Mount Fuji.

At top you can view the city and Fuji-Q Highland with the Mount Fuji as a backdrop.
After finish at the top we back down to base station and stroll around the opposite of Kachi Kachi where Lake Kawaguchiko at and then back to Hotel.
